I’m a few days late with this months My Month In Gaming post but here it is!
February was mainly spent learning the ropes of Final Fantasy XIV Online. I’ve made a lot of progress but I still have a long way to go. I am still very much enjoying the game but I have however transitioned over to the PC version of the game. Luckily I am still able to use the same character as I had started on the PlayStation 4.
After picking up the PC version I have joined a Free Company and the people who are a part of that group have been lovely and taught me a lot about my character class, helped me complete dungeons, given me some tips and tricks and just helped me with the game as a whole. I can already see a difference in the way that I play the game and it’s also nice to have a group of people to talk to and play alongside with.
Another game that I have transitioned to a different platform with during February was Overwatch. I do still play on PC every now and then when my game decides to behave. It’s gotten to the point where the issue with losing my rendering device frequently was ruining my experience with the game on PC. Extensive searching of the Blizzard forums, reaching out on Twitter to both Blizzard and AMD and even reinstalling Windows 10 on more than one occasion, the issue is sadly still there. Ultimately it looks like I’ll be having to upgrade the PC at some point in the future.
That being said I grabbed a copy of Overwatch for the PlayStation 4 from my local Argos while it was on sale. I still want to be able to enjoy the game on PC just without the issues. It seems to vary from patch to patch as to how frequent I get the issue as well. Competitive play is out of the question for me PC but I’m hoping to start back once I hit level twenty-five on the PlayStation 4. I do still very much enjoy Overwatch and it’s not a game I want to give up on.
The final two games that I have been playing a lot of during February are Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyessy. In all honesty reason as to why I was playing both these games is just because I do really enjoy playing both of them on the Nintendo Switch. They are both easy to just pick up and play and you don’t have to be hooked up to a monitor/television all the time to play which for me is one of the reasons why I got a Switch in the first place.
One accessory that I did pick up this month was the incredible looking Sea of Thieves Limited Edition Xbox One controller from GAME UK. I’ve been needing a new controller for a while as through wear and tear my current controller was not working as well as it should do. I was also potentially having to buy the Xbox One headset adapter to enable me to use my Razer Electra V2 headset with my Xbox. After some searching, I found that the newer Xbox One controllers came with the 3.5mm jack already built in and through my search found the Sea of Thieves controller. I must say it looks even better in person than it does in any pictures. The transparent purple makes me think of the transparent Game Boy Colours and the green just helps the theme of the controller come alive! I also can’t wait for Sea of Thieves to be released in full later this month!
In last months post, I mentioned about some of the games I was trying to complete on various consoles. While the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games stay the same this month there is a new mention for the Nintendo Switch.
The games that I am currently trying to complete are:
PlayStation 4 – Horizon Zero Dawn
Xbox One – Assassins Creed Origins
Nintendo Switch – Super Mario Odyssey
Much like last month I am still thoroughly enjoying both games for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. My main problem which I’m sure many can relate to is finding the time to play all these games that we own but like always somehow we find a way to complete them.
Although I am a few days late with getting this month’s My Month In Gaming post out I have enjoyed looking back over what I have been playing this last month. There are a lot of new games planned for release during March and I’m sure one or two of them may be a part of the next My Month In Gaming post.
The Sea of Thieves controller looks amazing.
