The Backlog Collection

I’m sure everyone has those games in their gaming collection that they’ve bought whether it is during a sale, spur of the moment or even a new release with every intention of playing the game and then never getting around to playing it. It is something that so many of us can related to and with so many games available for various platforms it sometimes can get difficult to keep up with every game.

Now I have a terrible habit of starting multiple games at once and then never finishing them. It’s a habit that I have gotten better with but still, it’s a bit of a problem. I’m also aware of a handful of games that I have bought and still have never played despite having every intention to do so. At the start of 2018, I set myself a target to try and complete one game a month at least and currently I haven’t completed a full game but I am fairly close with a couple of games.

After taking a look at my games collection, my first thought was “why do I have so many games I haven’t finished ?” My second thought is “I’ve bought this game and still not played it yet. Why is that?” In all honesty, I can’t fully answer either of those questions but still, my aim is to try and still complete them at some point. Most of the time I find that real life restricts the amount of time I actually can spend gaming and again I’m sure that is something many of us can relate to.

So, some of the games that I am yet to complete but I think is safe to say I would like to complete this year are:

  • Horizon Zero Dawn – PlayStation 4
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch
  • Pokémon Ultra Moon – Nintendo 3DS
  • WatchDogs 2 – Xbox One (I actually started the game again after having issues with my original save)
  • Ni No Kuni II – PlayStation 4
  • Assassins Creed Origins – Xbox One

This, of course, is nowhere near my full list of games that I am still yet to start or complete. Of course, this could change due to new releases planned for the rest of 2018 but I will still give it a good go to complete what I can.

I also have that selection of games that I’ve bought with every intention of playing and still have yet to get around to actually doing so. Some of these games include:

  • Persona 5 – PlayStation 4
  • Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance – Nintendo 3DS
  • Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings – Nintendo Switch

There are a few more games but these three games are the ones that once I’ve completed one or two games that I’ve already started I would like to pick one of these up next. I think it is more than doable to complete a good chunk of those games stated throughout today’s blog post but only time will tell I guess!
