What I’m looking forward to in Pokémon Let’s Go

The wait is finally over. Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu are finally here and I couldn’t be more excited! While I was sceptical about the game at first, the more information that came out about it the more intrigued and excited to play the game I became.

But what am I looking forward to now the game is released?

Pokémon Yellow was the first Pokémon game that I ever owned myself and that I have a lot of childhood memories from playing the game. Finding out that this is what Pokémon Let’s Go would be focused upon had me hooked and really intrigued on how the story would play out and what aspects of the game would be ever so slightly varied compared to the original Pokémon Yellow.

A New Approach

Although Pokémon Lets Go is still essentially the same Pokémon Yellow we know and love minus a few changes the fact that the game was also designed to help bring a new generation of players to the world of Pokémon. While the game still has all the elements we know and love the changes made will definitely help the new younger players. Pokémon has always captured some many hearts of people of various ages over the years. I’m excited for a new generation of fans to be able to play the Pokémon Yellow story.

Pokemon GO Integration

While this isn’t one of the main RPG Pokémon games I do like how they have integrated Pokémon GO into the game to a point. From what I’ve read/seen about the game it doesn’t appear that the game focuses heavily on having to use Pokémon GO or that it is compulsory to have a Pokémon GO account to play. I do like how that if you do have a Pokémon GO account that it opens up some more features for the game and you can play. I’m definitely going to give the Pokémon GO aspect a go and see how it works with the game.

Pokeball Plus

I’ll be honest, I thought this was just a gimmick to start with but in fact, it’s actually a pretty cool idea. It reminds me of the Pokéwalkers that came out with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Well, essentially it is. The fact that it is also a controller is an added addition and gives the player some variety of options to play the game with. I’m hoping to get a Pokéball Plus at some point to see how it works as a controller for the game.

Overall I can’t wait to give the game a go and have that trip down memory lane. Pokémon Let’s Go is a fresh approach to a classic story which will hopefully provide many hours of fun gameplay to many Nintendo Switch players.  There’s really a lot that I am looking forward to with this game but I really don’t know how long this post would have become if I wrote about every single one!

Side Note: I actually had written this post up prior to being surprised by my brother with my own copy as a belated birthday present. I’m honestly so excited to be able to play Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and see where my journey to becoming a Pokémon Master takes me!

All screenshots were taken in-game via the Nintendo Switch.
