My Thoughts On E3 2019

With the press conference’s now over I felt it was a good time to look back over some of my favourite moments from the event. Not only were there some great moments but also some incredible game reveals too. Below I’ve linked trailers to some of my favourite moments and announcements from the last few days. Of course, there are many that I want to include that this post would end up ridiculously long if I listed every single one.

The Sims 4 Island Living

Although I owned The Sims 3 Island Paradise, I never really properly explored that expansion pack. When I found out that The Sims 4 was releasing Island Living I couldn’t have been more excited. Seeing the trailer and other video clips during the EA PLAY live stream as well as what EA Game Changers have revealed so far has been incredible! I honestly can’t wait for this pack to release next week!

Borderlands 3

Although Borderlands 3 had already been announced prior to E3 I was still excited. I was also looking forward to finding out more about the previously rumored Borderlands 2 DLC which ties the two games together. Needless to say, that is my weekend sorted.

Forza Horizon 4: Lego Speed Champions

“Everything is awesome!” As someone who grew up playing the earlier Lego games and spending way too many hours playing the original Lego Racers on PC, I can’t wait to give this a go at some point in the future.

Cyberpunk and Keanu Reeves

I honestly have nothing else to say other than “You’re breathtaking!”

Planet Zoo

I didn’t know that I needed to run my own virtual zoo as much as I do now. Planet Zoo looks incredible and so full of detail. I can’t wait to be the virtual zookeeper that I’ve always wanted to be later this year.

Watch Dogs Legion

Although I didn’t really get on well with the first Watch Dogs game, I did, however, love Watch Dogs 2 and I’m hoping to complete a second playthrough before Watch Dogs Legion is released. From what was shown during Ubisoft’s press conference I honestly can’t wait to get stuck into the next installment. With so many new features and being able to play as any character in the game too will open up so many different opportunities on how the game plays out. Also, we all need a hero like Helen to help save us!

The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening

I’ve always wanted to play The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening but I’ve just never gotten around to it. Seeing that it is being brought to Nintendo Switch later this year I was excited. Even more so as I love the art style and graphics that Nintendo have gone with for this version of the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

It was what many Nintendo fans had been waiting for and they did deliver! Although the release has been pushed back to March 2020 I’m actually okay with that and in the meantime ,I can be even more excited and watch the trailer another thousand times before the release.

Other honorable mentions would have to be Just Dance 2020, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Bam Bam the dog stealing the show during Ubisoft’s press conference, the honesty from Bethesda surrounding Fallout 76’s launch as well as the upcoming free updates later this year, The Sims 4 Realm of Magic being announced during EA PLAY, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild being confirmed that it is now in development and Halo Infinite/Project Scarlett announcement. In fact I could say that all of the current announcements for E3 2019 are my honourable mentions but we would be here for a long time.

Let me know what you thought about this years E3 announcements and what you are looking forward to the most!
