First Impressions: Borderlands 3

After what has seemed like an eternity, Borderlands 3 is finally here for the world to play and it has been a blast jumping back into one of my favorite franchises again.

I started off this playthrough by choosing the Siren Amara as my character. In Borderlands 2 I played as Maya who is also a Siren so it seemed kind of fitting. I was also considering playing as the Gunner, Moze but I might choose her for when I play through the game again.

So far I’ve played around twelve hours of the game, both main story and side quests as well as a little bit of exploring but I know I’ve only just scratched the surface of the game.

Playing alongside my friends as well has been great fun and provided some brilliant entertainment. I have to say from what I have played it has been everything I’ve expected it to be and more and I know there will be more surprises along the way as the story progresses and it will give me countless hours of laughs and fun along the way.

However, this isn’t to say I haven’t come across and issues because I have. For me, I haven’t found them game-breaking or too distracting from the game itself however they are a little bit frustrating. What I have mainly experienced is poor framerates in parts of the game, the player menu screen is slow and often lags, connectivity issues and a few small glitches here and there. I am confident that 2K/Gearbox will be able to fix most of these issues via a patch in the near future.

Overall though I’m loving Borderlands 3 and while I’m intrigued to see how the story plays out I’m can’t wait to see what else will be added along the way!

  1. This is like me and Gears 5, which just came out as well. I haven’t fully gotten into borderlands as the first time I played I fell asleep playing with friends and never went back to it. But to hear/see the excitement in so many for the game is exciting.

    1. As soon as I saw Borderlands 3 revealed, I knew it was going to be exciting. I would definetly look at having a go at them at some point.

Gears 5 is another game I need to play too. When I just don’t know at the moment haha!
