Exploring Disney+

Disney+ has been out in the UK for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I am thoroughly enjoying using the streaming service as well as the variety of movies, documentaries and shows that they have on there. I’ve loved going back over and watching some of my favourite Disney movies as well as rewatching some of the Dinsey Channel Original Movies and shows from when I was growing up. Yet, it’s not just the feeling of nostalgia that I’ve got rewatching all these movies and shows but I’m also excited to discover new movies and shows.

What television shows have I been watching so far?

  • That’s So Raven
  • Wizards of Waverly Place
  • Hannah Montana
  • Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
  • The Simpsons

What movies have I watched so far?

  • Moana
  • The Lion King
  • Robin Hood
  • Mary Poppins Returns
  • The Princess Diaries 1 & 2
  • The Parent Trap
  • Cool Runnings
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Marvel Cinematic Universe (currently trying to watch them all in order)

What am I looking forward to watching?

  • The Imagineering Story
  • Star Wars The Mandalorian
  • Fantasia & Fantasia 2000
  • Disney Insider

In fact, there is so much on Disney+ both old and new that I want to watch that I really dread to think how long the list would be.

Overall I’ve thoroughly been enjoying using Disney+ and would recommend it to anyone who hadn’t signed up or was thinking of doing so. I feel that having the seven-day trial helps you to explore what Disney+ has to offer and there is so much that is has to offer too. Not just from the Dinsey side but the vast variety of content on there from the likes of Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.

Whether it’s sitting down and watching something indoors or taking my iPad and watching something outside, you’ll find that the majority of the time I’m watching something on Disney+. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is added in the future as well as discovering more that is currently on the platform.

What are some of your favourite Disney movies or shows that you’ve been watching or have watched over the years?

  1. I’ve enjoyed catching up on some of the missed Marvel films and a little bit of reminiscing from old Disney films however, whether its rights issues considering how many entities they own now there is a HUGE potential for more to be on there, including nearly all of the Fox TV and movies back catalogue, I’m uncertain whether this is a regional licensing issue or simply choice but certainly a scope for a lot more content. No alien franchise, die hards etc. Fun but personally unless it expands will become an off and on again subscription

    1. I did notice as well some TV shows/movies missing that I expected to be there but as you said it could be down to regional licensing or just what has been chosen for the UK version of Disney+ I’m not sure. I do agree that this may be an on-off subscription for me to depending on how quickly I go through my watch list. That list does seem to be getting longer at the moment so I guess it will be a few months before I really get through the list in full.
