Happy Birthday LeeksPlays!

If you were to ask me this time three years ago if I saw myself blogging still in twenty-twenty, I probably would have said no. However, you never know what can happen in life!

I guess you could say that for today’s post, it is time to celebrate a birthday of sorts or in this case a blogiversary.

Looking back at the last three years since launching this blog is crazy and even looking back at things in real life as well. Where has that time gone? Still to this day I love writing and working on posts to upload. I may not be the best at writing posts up in advance and many of my posts are still written up as a spur of the moment but I’m happy with how this blog is doing.

Earlier this year I changed things up a little bit with my name. LeeksEverywhere was (and still is) a nickname that came about from a joke a few of my friends and I on Discord had and it just sort of stuck. It became a name that I used for all things gaming related. In February I decided to properly move over to LeeksPlays. While LeeksEverywhere still exists (in the form of a place to upload all my gaming screenshots kind of Twitter), LeeksPlays felt like a refreshing change and actually was something I had wanted to do for a little while. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. LeeksPlays brings the same content just under a slightly different name.

The last eighteen months or so personally has been challenging. I’ve mentioned this vaguely in a handful of posts over that time but never gone into great detail with specifics but for the most part, it was all health-related. I am doing a lot better as well now too! However, writing up posts to share on here, working on things behind the scenes and just playing through so many games has helped me a huge amount during that time and I’m grateful that I’ve stuck with this even when I’ve when I’ve felt like giving up and stopping all together.

To the friends, I’ve made and everyone who I’ve interacted with over the past three years, follow on Twitter, Instagram or wherever it is, you are all incredible and inspirational and create some amazing content! Keep being awesome!

I’d like to say that I’m looking forward to attending an event or two later this year but with everything that is happening right now I’m most looking forward to the reveals, announcements and livestreams from developers and studios online as part of the Summer Games Festival.

I can’t say for certain what will happen with LeeksPlays over the next year or even beyond that but I’m excited to see where this adventure takes me. I’m still aiming at posting once a week where I can and I have a few ideas in mind for future content but we’ll have to see what happens.
