LudoNarraCon 2021: Favourite & Stand Out Games (Part 1)

Even though LudoNarraCon is over for this year, there are still plenty of games to check out that were showcased at the event. I’ve slowly been making my way through a number of the game demos from the event as well as adding a number of them to my Steam Wishlist.

This post will be in two parts and is a collection of many of my favourite games from LudoNarraCon as well as many that have stood out to me that I’m planning on following and hopefully playing once they have been fully released.

I was kindly sent a Steam Key by Fellow Traveller as part of the LudoNarraCon Press Pass. This allowed me to take a look at many of the game demos throughout the duration of the event. Thank you for the opportunity to take a look at so many amazing games.

Button City

I can’t lie, I was drawn in by the cute and colour nature of this game. Of course, once I read a bit more about the game I couldn’t wait to check out the demo. I really can’t describe my experience with the demo than the fact it was such great fun, chaos and filled with laughter!

Cozy Grove

I’m sure by now, many of us have heard or seen about Cozy Grove online. I didn’t actually know that Cozy Grove was part of the line-up for LudoNarraCon originally, but it was such a perfect game to be showcased alongside so many other great games! I’ve been hooked on playing the game recently as a way of winding down for an hour or so in the evenings once I get home from work. There’s just something mystical yet relaxing about Cozy Grove that makes for a perfect evening.

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut

I’ve only ever heard great things about Disco Elysium, but somehow I’ve never got around to checking the game out myself. The demo for Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is the next one I’m planning on playing through, and I’m really excited to check it out. However, I’m seriously considering picking up the full game in the near future, so I can experience everything that the game has to offer.

Haven

Haven is a game that I’ve seen popping up on the Nintendo Switch eShop for a little while now, and I actually gave in and picked it up recently. There was something about the game that kept pulling me back to looking at it. I haven’t quite figured that out yet, but I guess I’ll find out soon!

Lake

When I first read about this game, I really wasn’t sure if it was a game I would enjoy. However, after watching the trailer, playing the demo and reading a bit more about it, I knew it was a game for me. It reminded me a bit of Firewatch and also Life is Strange Before The Storm both of which I thoroughly enjoyed in the past. The demo gives you a good look at what Lake has to offer as well as a glimpse at the story. I’m really looking forward to checking out the full game once it is released later this year.
