My Summer Games Haul

I promised myself again that I wouldn’t go mad during the various different Summer Sales this year. Did I listen to my own advice? Of course not! While, I wouldn’t say I went overboard with the games that I picked up, but there was definitely some strong temptation to pick up more games alongside what I did buy.

First up was Persona 5 Strikers for Nintendo Switch. I’ve been on the fence about this game for a little while now. I’m still very new to the Persona franchise, still have a lot to learn and a lot to try and understand about what has happened in the games previously. I’m getting there slowly but surely, I think.

One of the things that appealed to me most about Persona 5 Strikers was the crossover between Persona 5 and Dynasty Warriors, and I’m really interested to see how that works in game.

While Persona 5 Strikers is the only current-gen game that I purchased, I’ve also picked up a few gems from eBay too. You may have seen that I recently picked up an Elgato HD60 S capture card, and I’ve been having great fun exploring some older Xbox and Xbox 360 games. In all honesty, it’s been great fun revisiting these games, as they are games that I grew up with on one platform or another.

The games that I bought from eBay were The Sims 2, The Urbz: Sims in the City and SSX 3 for the original Xbox and The Sims 3 Pets for Xbox 360. All these were around £5 each before postage costs. All the games were fully tested and in good working order, with only some small cosmetic damage to the boxes. Each of the games arrived ahead of time, too. If you can’t tell, I’ve been on a bit of a nostalgic The Sims adventure lately, and SSX 3 is a game that I loved playing on the PlayStation 2 growing up.

Although I’ve been tempted by a number of other games, I haven’t bought them as my backlog is only growing bigger and bigger at this point. I also need to think about the games that are coming out over the next few months, and which ones I’m considering buying and which I’ll be renting.

Speaking of renting, I am currently renting Scarlett Nexus on PlayStation 4 and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on Nintendo Switch. I’m looking forward to checking both of these out over the next week or so.

Have you picked up any new games recently in the Summer Sales?

  1. I finally picked up Crosscode, which is a game that I like in theory, but I’ve never got very far in. I also picked up Watchdogs Legion because again, I really like picking up these huge open world games where I can goof around in. I’m never particularly good at them.

I have been playing Yakuza Like a Dragon on Game Pass because I’m a fan of those games.
