Let’s Rewind: July

July came and July went. So quickly in fact that I actually lost track of time. I can’t say that it’s been a busy month as such, but it has been productive overall. I’ve continued to experiment with my Elgato HD60 S capture card, as well as play through some more games, both old and new. I returned to one of my favourite games and created a wish list of games I’d like to play in the future. I’ve also been working on some other projects, one of which I am hoping to be able to share soon!

The Sims 4 Cottage Living

The most recent expansion pack for The Sims 4 has recently released, and I’m in love with it. I love everything about the pack, from the new world of Henford-on-Bagley to the Create A Sim and Build Buy Catalogue. I’ve still got so much to explore, and I’m looking forward to discovering more in the pack soon.

Final Fantasy XIV

Yes, I’m back on Final Fantasy XIV again. I’ve missed it and just couldn’t wait any longer to dive back into the game. With the Endwalker expansion releasing soon I’ve got plenty of time to work on levelling some of my crafting skills, job roles and building up my confidence in game again.

I talked a little more about my return to Final Fantasy XIV in my previous blog post. You can check that out here.

Against The Current – Fever

While this isn’t a game, this is an album I’ve been enjoying listening to a lot lately on Spotify. Fever is the first of two albums that the band are releasing this year, and I can only say that I’m loving each and every song from this album. I can’t wait to see what part two is like soon!

YouTube

One of the things I wanted to try out with my Elgato Capture Card was capturing Old Xbox 360 and Xbox Games. I’ve got a small collection of games and have been sharing a play through of The Sims 2 on my channel. I chose to not do a voice-over for the videos, but to just have straight up gameplay. It’s still early days and I’m still learning but I’m happy with the videos I’ve uploaded so far.

I never got around to playing Scarlett Nexus, which I’m actually really disappointed in myself. I ended up posting it back to Boomerang Games but will be renting it again in the near future I hope. As for August, I’m not too sure how it’s going to play out. I’m very tempted to see where it takes me and go from there. I do have some time off work planned, so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze some time to sit down and play as many games as I can. I’m also looking forward to sharing more about one of the secret projects I’m currently working on, too.

How has July been for you?

  1. The Against the Current video gives me a small amount of anxiety. Not because of the music, but I have a slight fear of my reflection coming to life and then making fun of me. 🙂 Or just pulling me into some horror dimension.

The scenario in my head starts with my reflection just being a little bit off.
