I guess you could say, this past week has been a bit of a reset week. I’ve spent time getting some long-overdue tasks completed as well as, basically, catching up on life. While it has been nice taking the time to focus on other things, the week didn’t go entirely to plan due to some last-minute changes. Even though they felt like I was heading backwards with my plans, it wasn’t all bad as it allowed me to catch up with some family.
Gaming wise, I haven’t really done much this week other than playing the two new The Sims 4 Kits and creating some content over on The Sims Community. I’ve been having a lot of fun with this content lately, as I’ve been able to explore more themes and topics than I have done in the past.
I have also been playing around with some spooky looks with my Sims ready for some more content I’ve been working on, and as usual I’ve been taking way too many screenshots with the new poses and custom content I’ve added to my game.
The past week has also given me some time to think about what kind of content I’d like to work on for this little blog going forward. I’ve made countless notes or topics & games I’d like to try and cover and explore but, I’ve also got a list of a few geek lifestyle topics as well as the odd music, film and television topics as well. I’ll be honest, I don’t know when I will get to covering them or if I’ll ever be able to, but having this pool of ideas and just seeing it all written out is exciting!
Another thing that’s happened over this past week, is that I joined the rest of the world in watching Squid Game over on Netflix. I’ve just finished Episode Seven and have the last couple remaining. All I can say about the show is that it has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride! By the time this has been posted, I should be done with watching Squid Game, and then I’m going to be moving onto Alice in Borderland next.
One last little point before I round off today’s post. Today is World Mental Health Day. Part of the reason why I took this past week as a bit of a reset week was to focus a little more on myself and my own mental health. I spent some time reflecting on a number of different things which as been interesting but also positive too. I also took a look back at a post I wrote last year (you can find that post here) about my journey with mental health and how video games and the gaming community has helped me.
With Monday looming, it’s back to some kind of normality. For now, I’ll be spending the rest of the evening relaxing, catching up on a couple more things and maybe even get around to watching Marvel’s Black Widow over on Disney+.
Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend, and I hope you have a great week!
