The Animal Crossing Diaries: Preparing for New Adventures

The new Animal Crossing New Horizons update may be just over a week away, but I’ve been busy getting ready for it. With plenty of weeds and flowers to clear, I’ve got a lot of work to do.

After catching the latest Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct, I can honestly say I’m incredibly excited about the update. The return of Brewster and The Roost, the overhaul of Harv’s Island, new Villagers, Gyroids, cooking, crops, more furniture and so much more! Of course, I can’t forget about the Happy Home Paradise downloadable content, either! There’s so much coming to the game, all of which I’m excited for, and I have no idea where I want to start first!

I decided that before I made any major changes to my Island that I wanted to record a quick Island Tour, so I can look back at what I have done and the changes I’ve made using the new update.

This was the first time I’ve properly used my Elgato Capture Card along with my Nintendo Switch. I had a few issues, but I’m happy with how this turned out overall. There are still a few things I can improve upon, but that will come with time. Ultimately my Island Tour it is just me running around my Island (minus the campsite area) and talking to some of my Villagers, but it gives you an idea of what life on Minooo is like.

You may remember that I also have a second island, Altissia. That island is still going strong. It’s rather messy, if anything, as I’ve got stuff all over the place (much like you may have spotted in the video) but hopefully I’ll start to get things a little more organized shortly over there.

The new update and downloadable content really is bringing a new lease of life to Animal Crossing New Horizons. For me it is still one of my favourite games to go to and even though I’ve been a bit lax in playing recently, it has been nice to return every now and then. Even though my Villagers on both Island’s have been curious as to where I’ve been hiding and told me off several times, I can’t wait to see what adventures we go on next!

In the meantime, I’ll be continuing to clear my Island and get things ready ahead of the update on the 5th November 2021.
