Let’s Rewind: February

While I’m still taking a step back from writing for the time being, it didn’t feel right to be skipping out on a monthly recap post. If you missed my recent blog update, you can find it here.

I’ve spent a lot of this past month hopping between a number of different games. I couldn’t really find something that I could just stick with and play. After swapping between Pokémon Legends Arceus, Unpacking, Call of Duty Cold War, The Sims 4 and a few other games, I finally settled on a game I have been looking forward to for a while.

Elden Ring

This is the first time I will be properly playing through a FromSoftware game. I’ve played a couple of the Dark Souls games here and there in the past, but never in great detail. I’m still really early on in the game, as expected, but I’m spending a lot of my time exploring the world, collecting materials, defeating smaller enemies and just having fun.

I’m not at the point where I’m ready to take on some of the larger enemies just yet, in all honesty, I just run as fast as I can away from them at the moment where I can.

The class I chose to go with was Astrologer. I liked the idea of having a mix of options when it came to combat, however being able to cast spells from a distance is somewhat handy at the moment.

Even though it’s only been a few days since the game was released, it’s been great fun. I know I’m only just scratching the surface of the game currently but there is so much more for me to explore and discover!

What games have you been playing lately?

  1. I like the idea of Elden Ring, but I just don’t have the patience for Souls games. I just want to press the attack button a bunch of times and feel like I can dodge OK. The Yakuza games are more my speed.
